All TV programs will convert from an
analog signal to a digital signal
effective February 17, 2009. This means
that if you have an older TV set (more than 3-4 years
old) it likely has analog signaling. If your TV has
analog signaling it will no longer be able to pick up a
signal and thus no longer have TV programming broadcast.
You have the option of buying a new TV or of
purchasing a TV Converter Box. The TV sets will not work
without a converter box or cable or satellite. If you
subscribe to cable TV or satellite TV you will be able
to get the digital signals. However, if you do not have
cable or satellite you will need the converter box. The
FCC is offering a TV Converter Box Coupon Program toward
the purchase of a converter box. The converter boxes
cost around $50.00 each and the coupon is good for
$40.00 thus reducing out of pocket costs to around
$10.00.

For more information please
visit the FCC Web site at http://www.dtv.gov/and click
on consumer corner and then click on converter box
coupon program. Or you may call 888-225-5322 to get your
coupon for the converter box. Pastor Alford

Early Detection Saves Lives
Schedule Your Breast Cancer
Screening Today!
If you are a woman over the
age of 40, we strongly encourage you to have an annual
mammogram. A mammogram is an X-ray of the breast that
can detect abnormalities that are too small to be
detected by a regular breast self-exam.
There is a steady decline in
the number of people who die each year from breast
cancer. This decline can be directly attributed to the
fact that more women are getting mammograms which leads
to early detection.
What are the risk factor?
While the exact cause of
breast cancer is unknown, there are some risk factors
that have been identified.
